Starting in 2005, a well organized team of leading engineers from the Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones Técnicas de Gipuzkoa (CEIT) set a RFID UHF sensor as a long term goal. Engineers from 5 different areas were recruited for the project, as the objective was a CMOS-MEMS combination.

By the start of 2008, the project had already given outstanding results, proving that the target could be reached and the technology had no competitor in the marketplace.

In September 4th 2008, FARSENS is founded as a spin-off of the CEIT. FARSENS’ goal is to market the revolutionary technology by analyzing the market, developing the most interesting applications by tailoring the solution to the different industries and finding the best companies to partner with.

In December 2008, we were awarded with the Toribio Echevarría award, the most important awards in the Basque Country for technological companies. We received the award to the “Best R&D Based New Company"
